Slavery

Beacause we are all born

Into slavery indentured and made to work

By the bosses who provide us

With the wages and the income

By those masterminds called clients

Who pull the invisible string.

We are all born into slavery

And all brought up to think

That this is the only way

That humanity can survive.

Look at the birds of the air

They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns

And yet your heavenly father feeds them . . .

Consider the lilies of the field how they grow

They neither toil nor spin yet I tell you

Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed

Like one of them.

Who then has fabricated

This cage in which we are

All born into slavery?
