Transcendence
Cannot
help to think of the forbidden fruit
Of
what could be or could have been
Your
destiny and mine
Two
roads that never crossed
Two
rails that never met.
They
ran so well together
Parallel
to each other
Towards
eternity.
There
in eternity all this passion all this zeal
Shall
be consumed in the ultimate cremation
Of
the nothing, the void,
In
the gratuitous and the virtual
The
humiliating and the exalting.
I
will be there for you
As
the knight to his lady sworn
In
the illicit and immoral
So
that even the nobleness of it all
shall
be transcended into
The
insignificant.
