Ma ninħebiex wara l-kbuija

inkella l-ebusiha tar-ras

ninfixel sew xħin niġi wiċċ imb’wiċċ

Ma dak li ma nifhimx

U dak li ħaddieħor ħeba minni

U jħallini ngħum

Fil-baħar tal-misteri

Taħt eklissi li fiha xejn ma jidher.

Jibqagħli biss li mmur fl-estrem

U nibda nħaġġar lura

Bil ġebel li jkun iżżerżaq

U nfieri ‘l-min xejn ma jkun jaħti.

Xbajt inħott dak li nkun bnejt

U nħassar dak li nikteb.

We Are Windblown.

We are windblown

We are time.

The cutting of the thread of conversation

Can be painful

Can lacerate

Like a double edged blade.
I may not be ready for the trauma

And you may not even care.

Another time, another day

I would have shrugged my shoulders too

As if you were’ent any near

Or just an annoying thought.

Little would I know

That my disinterest could cause

The same agoniozing  pain

That your fawrell has done.

We are change

We are motion

We are windblown

We are driftwould

We are time.

It Will Take You A Lot Of Time.

It will take you a lot of time to get over it.

Maybe this is a time for deep reflection.

women are required to moan

it is their form of expression

they are required to scream

when the snake bites.

You may be full of hot air

a chauvinism that you were brought up with

but in the end you expose

your own Achilles heel.

And then you are expected to take it

even when you get badly hurt

or they become queens of an impossible realm

that becomes mistaken.

And then they are  misjudged

when they acquire too much testosterone

driven by a mad impulse

to mate and to beget.

There Is A Devil.

There is a devil in me that

ties me to your folly

there is an angel in me that

shows me how to love you.

When I am myself

I hate the devil

and the angel calms me down.

There is another man I do not know

and another ghost that tires me out

and an ugly face on whose advice I slide

that tells me not to bother.

But the baggage that I carry

becomes to heavy.

Then there is the one who is addicted

There is the one who is forlorn

There is me that never understood

and somehow begs to be reborn.

YOU WILL ALWAYS REGRET IT.

You will always regret it

Because there is always another way

Of going about things

And you are intelligent enough

To see the difference

And selfish enough not to admit

That you deserve better.

So why focus on what is in front of you

When you  overlook what is hidden?

There is always another side to it of course

There is always the bitterness and the resentment

For what has been missed out

At the end of a life’s journey

When it dawns upon you that

After all this is not

Where you intended to be.

Then you find out

That all the denials and all the negations

Where for a reason

And really make a lot of sense

With the added disappointment

That the past can be recalled

But never relived or resurrected.

The Flicker Of A Second.

What happens to what we go through,

Where will it all end up?

Like things we have forgotten

And are lost forever because theywere never recorded

For even when somneone reminds you

You may not even remember

It is as if they never happened.

Such is life and all there is to it

The flicker of a second.
